In 1989, having worked as a musician and comedian, Mike began writing, directing and acting in children's theater at Chicago's world-famous Second City Theater and performing in local improvisation shows.
In 1991 he decided to take the skills he'd honed to radio; the medium he fell in love with as a Child of the Seventies, when Steve Dahl and Garry Meier, Robert Murphy, Roy Leonard, The National Lampoon Radio Hour, Doctor Demento and the heady brew of rock jocks spinnin' tunes on WXRT, WMET & The LOOP captured his imagination.
For over a quarter-century, Mike Tomano's uninhibited radio show has found a home on numerous stations in the Chicagoland area. His unique style of free-form comedy, character voices, song parodies, celebrity interviews, rock music and lifestyle talk combined with provocative commentary made him a high-profile radio personality, winning legions of fans and numerous awards, including:
2012 Certificate of Recognition - The American Legion Department of Illinois
2009 Best Locally Produced Show - Illinois Broadcasters Association
2009 Best Local Broadcast Team - Illinois Broadcasters Association
